Beneficiaries:
The beneficiaries of SWO-India include:-
- Defence Forces Personnel (Serving or Retired).
- Central Armed Police Forces such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB (Serving or Retired).
- All other Central Government Forces personnel from Assam Rifles, Coast Guard, DSC, & Territorial Army (Serving or Retired).
- Border Roads Organization Personnel (Serving or Retired).
- Military Engineering Services Personnel (Serving or Retired).
- Civilian staff of Indian Naval Dockyards (Retired or Serving).
- Personnel of Ordinance Depots/Factories/Defence Laboratories (Retired or Serving).
- Entire staff of Defence Research and Development (DRDO) (Serving or Retired)
- Widows, War – Widows & Next of Kin of all the above categories.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must have attained the age of majority i.e. 18 yrs as on date of submission of Application Form.
- Must be a beneficiary of SWO-India.
- May be a NRI from the list of beneficiaries.
Special Discount Categories (SDC)
Under mentioned category of personnel would be given additional discount/incentive as mentioned against each category. The special discount/incentive shall be applicable only when the beneficiary has volunteered to obtain membership of Sainik Welfare Donation Card.

Conditions for Special Discount Categories:-
- The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of SWDC for any allotment under any scheme of SWO-INDIA.
- A photocopy of valid certificate issued by a Competent Authority, in case of SDC categories, should be attached with the Booking Application Form duly attested by the applicant’s Commanding Officer or concerned Zila Sainik Board .
- If at any stage, the information submitted by the applicant is found to be false or incorrect his/her allotment shall be liable to be cancelled and earnest money shall be forfeited besides initiation of criminal legal action.
- The SDC eligibility will be applicable only to Sainik Welfare Donation Card Holders. Benefits are applicable for only one residential unit against one card.
- In case of War Disabled/Disabled/Physically Handicapped/Blind, the applicant should have 50% disability or above to be eligible under the scheme. A self attested photocopy of certificate issued by the concerned Civil Surgeon of the District should be attached.
- In case of War Widows, Serving Defence personnel and Ex-servicemen/Central Armed Police Forces Personnel, a self attested photocopy of the Identity Card /certificate issued by the Zila Sainik Board should be attached.
- In case of Gallantry Award Winners :-
- Gallantry Award Winners (Others)* shall include “Sena Medal” or equivalent for gallantry
- Non-Gallantry Awardees** shall include PVSM, AVSM, VSM, SM or equivalent for distinguished service.
- The Gallantry award winners from the defence services, Central Armed Police Forces Personnel who have distinguished themselves by acts of bravery and valour in the defence of our country, both during war and peace time (Applicable ONLY ONCE in their life time). They should have not received any such discount for a plot/house/flat from any other scheme of SWO-INDIA in any part of the country.
- In case of posthumous award, the widow (If there is only one) shall be considered as the next of kin eligible to avail this discount. In case the awardee was unmarried, the mother or father would be the beneficiary, in that order.
