SAINIK WELFARE OBJECTIVES:
- To support/assist/help Sainiks recently discharged/superannuated from their services by providing them basic Computer Training, Accounts Management, Security Management Courses and other vocational courses for the purpose of re-employment and to assist them for suitable placement/rehabilitation.
- To extend all kind of support (financial or otherwise) to those who have been injured or wounded on duty or otherwise or who have left the job because of permanent disability or serious illness/sickness and to assist them in rehabilitation.
- To provide or facilitate in procurement of artificial limbs, calipers and other medically prescribed equipment to the Sainiks who have been disabled/incapacitated during the process of serving the nation.
- To support the families of those killed/wounded/injured in enemy action and also those families who are staying separately due to the reasons of employment.
- To construct, operate, run, and manage schools, colleges, vocational education centers, Technical Colleges/Institutes, Engineering & Information Technology Institutes, sports complexes/clubs, community centers, libraries, canteens, gymnasiums, health centers, nursing homes, MI Rooms for providing medical assistace and physical upliftment of the children and family members of Sainiks/ soldiers/ widows/ ex-servicemen irrespective of any differentiation, distinction or discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, language, religion or region.
- To construct, operate, run and manage hostels and old Age homes for Ex-servicemen and their dependents.
- To help relocate and make available affordable/low cost housing facilities to our needy soldiers at the places of their choice of settlement after active service and to procure, develop, manage, distribute as per legal norms all such land/residential units.
- To extend all support to brilliant, promising and deserving children of soldiers for highlighting their talent in the field of Art, theatre, concerts, dance performances, sports, Science or in any other field of education or extracurricular activities.
- To run, operate, establish and manage medical centers, dispensaries, nursing homes, physiotherapy centers and dental clinics and provide ambulance services for soldiers and families in rural, semi-rural, remote areas of India or in the residential colonies developed by SWO-INDIA.
- To provide help to deserving, needy, economically backward candidates/ children or family of soldiers in the field of medicine, education, rehabilitation and any other relief after conduct of fair enquiries, tests, survey and validation process.
- To assist welfare departments of Ministry of Home Affairs/Ministry of Defence or other Governmental bodies, organizations ,defence/ security forces headquarters in implementing their welfare, resettlement & rehabilitation and charitable schemes for the security forces personnel and their dependents /widows/war widows.
- EXCEPTIONS – Those soldiers convicted for war crimes, drug addiction/alcoholism, sexual misbehavior, theft, or any act of violence are not entitled to any of these benefits offered by SWO-INDIA. Soldiers will be screened and reviewed on a case by case basis for their act of devious, dubious or violent behavior.
GLOBAL ERADICATION OF MALNUTRITION AND HUNGER:
- To fight against malnutrition and hunger at regional, national and international level by fostering greater coordination and cooperation between committed organizations/nations.
- To heighten public awareness about the world food problem and strengthen solidarity in the struggle against malnutrition and hunger and to innovate ways to eliminate malnutrition and hunger and to setup research health care and development centers.
- To coordinate and assist World Health Organization and Intergovernmental Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council IIMSAM for the use of Micro‐algae “Spirulina” Against Malnutrition in their international activities for eradication of malnutrition and hunger.
- To coordinate and assist Central & State Govt bodies/depts./agencies in undertaking preventive and curative steps against malnutrition and hunger in the affected draught prone areas of India.
- To work for eradication malnutrition and hunger, improving general health & to reduce the impact of diseases by improving the resistance power of people at little/no extra cost. To strengthen this process by propagating in use of some highly nutritive food items like Spirulina, Englina & Stevia & recycling of oil-seed residues or oil-cakes from oil mills that are currently going waste.
- To seek assistance from ex-servicemen groups all over India to create awareness for use of highly nutritive food items like Spirulina, Englina & Stevia & oil-seed residues or oil-cakes from oil mills that are currently going waste to curb malnutrition and hunger.
GENERAL WELFARE
- To provide scholarship to brilliant students belonging to economically poor and backward families, for pursuing higher studies and professional courses and arranging the facility of career counseling.
- To provide/extend financial assistance to the deserving and needy people of the society to help and support them for earning livelihood and to motivate such people to pay back the money with or without negligible interest.
- To establish/install/ undertake drinking water projects in rural areas and in urban slum areas by installation of pump sets, submersibles and RO plants.
- Construction of dwelling units for the economically weaker sections.
- Establishment and running of educational institution in rural areas only for women and children and vocational institutions and training in rural areas and small towns.
- To provide financial assistance for the marriage of the daughters belonging to financially poor families.
- To organize, establish or aid camps for the purpose of providing relief an succour to the needy in the form of medicines, food and clothing in the event of any natural calamity, disaster or during an epidemic.
- To run/ operate a programme that promotes road safety, prevention of accidents and traffic awareness.
- To institute various awards and rewards, for the conferment of meritorious and deserving students, sport enthusiastics and the persons who have established highest standards of integrity, probity and service for the common welfare of masses, as a means of encouragement and motivation.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- To plant trees for the betterment of environment and create awareness among the masses in General & Sainiks in particulars for afforestation.
- To encourage and motivate the fellow countrymen particularly youth for plantation of trees and proper utilization of scarce resources such as water and oil so as to imbibe a spirit of social character of a society.
- To work for the reduction/ control of pollution and campaign against use of plastics.
- To maintain and preserve water bodies and popularize water harvesting.
- To maintain and own tree nurseries and conduct research in the fields of global warming prevention and environmental preservation with the aim to maintain ecological balance.
- To imbibe the spirit of recycling the waste into its useful utilization.
